We are ONE WEEK into Very Merry Minis. Photographers …. a successful somewhat NON- “stressful” holiday season can work … just dont make these mistakes I have made over the years. lol. This is my 6th Holiday Season {CRAZY} but heres some of the things I have learned to not get the “Photographer Burn Out”. I mean toward the end it will happen but it shouldnt last as long and you may only need a week off from your camera.
1. Don’t compromise your amazing light. I use to CRAM so many minis in one day and I hated the galleries. That golden light wasnt in every sessions. I had to work around extreme sunlight. Which caused more port processing time. I finally said ENOUGH. I now only do two – three mini slots a day and thats it.
2. Don’t over book !!! Second part to number one. By doing only 3 families at a time in one day Im actually able to ENJOY each of them without social exhaustion. You want to come home to your family feeling a little tired not a whole lotta tired.
3. Stay organized. Keep a schedule and chart so you can keep track of all payments, products, and packages going in and out.
Thats just couple things I have learned. So every year right before busy season starts I take my sons Fall Pictures. Tonight afterwards I needed to eat some “mint cookie dough ice cream”. Where did my son go ?!? If you have been following PKP for awhile you have seen him grow …. but wow. In less then 5 months he will be 12 years old. 12. When did this happen ?? He also asked me if I was paying him to do these pictures. As you can imagine my face was like “whaaat”. But gotta hand it to the kid … hes capitalizing on those good looks as a friend reminded me. lol. Hes changed so much this year. Our family has had so many changes. One big one was we decided to Home – School. As much hard work as it is …. it has truly been the best thing I could of every of done for him in this season of his life. It will be interesting to see what 2018 brings us with this kiddo of ours.
